Facilitated by award-winning filmmaker, the workshop titled Tell Us Your Story: A Course on Scriptwriting for Documentaries, will hone participants’ talents and skills in conceptualizing, structuring, and developing stories that will effectively translate into documentaries. Lessons will focus on techniques in developing documentary film ideas, research methodology, script structure, character development, use of cinematic devices, and creating believable content.

Speaker/s

Professor Nick Deocampo is a graduate of New York University on a Fulbright scholarship program and is a recipient of various scholarships and filmmaking grants. With the documentary as his “cinema of choice,” he has written his own scripts and produced prizewinning documentaries.  He is also a film historian and mentor to a new generation of independent filmmakers. He teaches at the College of Mass Communication at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City.
