As a certified welder for most of his life, the author sees the unlimited opportunities for Filipino welders to excel in their craft, given the proper training and motivation. It is the dream of every welder to achieve Class A accreditation which would open doors to excellent job placement both here and abroad. Unfortunately, many of our welders have not had formal training but learned through apprenticeships in the workplace with exposure, unfortunately again, it is often inadequate for a young person, in the rural area who have the inclination to study welding but are not able to do so, due to lack of equipments.
