We read in the papers or hear in the news the state of our country’s economy. Recently, there has been much interest in the ASEAN Integration. How do these developments impact on how we conduct our businesses and manage our people?
SAIDI is pleased to offer a power learning session on these two important developments.
Philippine Economic Update:
We start with the state of development of the Philippines. Understanding and discussion of income follows, as to where it comes from in terms of regions and how it is produced and expanded. Discussion of the labor (trabaho) and finance, especially inflation (presyo) follows. As economies globalize, the final discussion overviews international economics.

We start with the general overview of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations – its history and evolution. Then we look at the current macroeconomic indicators in the ten ASEAN member nations. A discussion of the various phases of ASEAN integration follows – from the Preferential Trade Arrangements (PTA) to Free Trade Area (FTA) to the current ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), its blueprint and implementation. The last topic deals with the potential benefits/cost and challenges faced by businesses.
