Weddings & Events Videography Course
Details
This is a 4-day course that tackles the basics of Wedding videography. The modules include visual language and grammar, DSLR videography, wedding workflow, editing and post-production. A wedding day will be simulated, complete with a bride and groom,
a real wedding gown and other paraphernalia used in weddings.
The course also includes a module on entrepreneurship that will help ensure you can convert your new skills into a viable source of income. Students are expected to produce a demo reel as a final output.
At the end of this course, the student is expected to:
- Have a general knowledge, appreciation and understanding of the visual language and grammar used in the film industry
- Identify and learn to execute different shot sizes, angles and camera movements
- Learn the basics of cinematography or lighting
- Understand the basic functions of the camera to control light- ISO, aperture, shutter speed.
- Have a general knowledge, appreciation and skill to produce a family documentary such as a wedding, birthdays and anniversaries
- Know the best industry practices in producing a wedding and events video
- Understand and appreciate the potential to earn a living by being a family documentary videographer.
- Have a knowledge on how to run a profitable videography business
- Understand the basic concepts of marketing
- Draft a business plan based on their desired model

Speaker/s
A graduate of the UP Film Institute, EJ has directed award winning documentary films tackling issues of environment and society. He has further studied advanced documentary filmmaking under German, French and Dutch filmmakers in various workshops and specialized courses organized by Goethe Institute-Manila and Goethe Institut-Hanoi. EJ also directs commercials, advertisements and corporate image films.
EJ has filmed hundreds of weddings when he became an owner of a wedding film studio in 2010-2012. This was when he dreamed of a Videography School that offers special courses for budding artists.
Dennis Abad
After taking up German at UP Diliman, Dennis has successfully reinvented himself from an engineering sales and financial corporate past and is now a full-time documentary filmmaker, professional photographer, and a corporate image film producer. He leverages his
skills as a linguist by regularly working with European clients in the Philippines. His advocacy revolves around environment, energy, social enterprise, land-use, and sustainability. His roles as a director, cinematographer, editor, and producer are put to
great use now that he is an educator as well.
Julius Olaya
Julius has produced hundreds of wedding films since 2009. He started as a freelance videographer and SDE editor, shooting regularly for Jake Olaso Wedding Films, IGS Cinema and Derek Yee Video among others.
In 2011 he founded his own wedding films studio, MOV Films. His passion and creativity has made him one of the most sought after wedding videographers.
Mark Bernal
Mark Bernal graduated in UP Diliman where he finished his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is now teaching as instructor in Business Management and Marketing classes. Mark is now a working to complete his Masteral studies in Business
Administration.
For more than a decade, Mark worked as marketing executive for giant brands such as BPI, San Miguel and Smart Communications among others. After working in the corporate world, he co-founded restaurants and a wedding photography-videography studio. He also
owns businesses specializing in marketing and advertising; Game Plan Marketing Solutions, Innovations Plus and Open Space Media.
Mark will be the primary mentor in SHOOT! School’s Entrepreneurship and Marketing a Videography Business under the course Wedding and Events Videography Course.
