Participants will learn the basics of financial controls and performing a compliance audit consistent with donor requirements such as those performed under Circular A-133 for USAID funded projects and Global Fund projects.
Learn the key part of the compliance audit, which is, gaining an understanding of, assessing, and testing internal control over compliance.
Participants will learn the best practices in managing the financial and program aspects of donor funded projects.
Accordingly, NGOs will be better equipped to meet donor requirements thereby reducing the financial and reputational risks.

Allan has diversified 12 years of experience with the top professional firms. He is a master trainer of various programs to include fraud, Computer Assisted Auditing Techniques, and Risk-Based Audit of NGO operations. He has been involved in several audits of NGO projects in the USA, Cambodia, West Bank Gaza, Afghanistan, Bolivia, Haiti, Angola, Vietnam, Lao, and Philippines. These projects were supported by major funding agencies such as USAID, AUSAID, and the Global Fund. His diversified experience in A133, compliance and fraud audit of NGOs provided him with a unique perspective that he will share with the seminar participants. Allan recently served as the Professional Development Manager of IIA Philippines. Prior to this, he was with Grant Thornton Vietnam as Senior Manager for Advisory Services where he established the firm’s Business Risk Services practice focusing on enterprise risk management, IT services, fraud and forensic, internal audit and consulting. He was also with Grant Thornton Philippines (Punongbayan and Araullo) as Managing Consultant and Sycip Gorres Velayo as Audit Associate. Allan is also a board topnotcher (6th place in the May 2003 CPA exams) and continues to keep in touch with the academe by being a CPA review lecturer at PSBA – Quezon City.
