Lines & Wash: a Watercolor Coloring Workshop with Joannie Candi & Daniel Lei

Learn to paint anything and anywhere in this one of a kind beginner to intermediate workshop with us! We've carefully chosen from our personal techniques and styles some challenging but fun exercises that will get you familiar with painting with watercolors. We'll be sharing the methods we actually use on our works and the ones you will need to be able to paint almost anything under the sun!

Featuring the works of Ink Scribbler, Mark Dean Lim and Oceanchelle and yours truly (Joannie and Daniel), you'll get acquainted with painting different styles of illustrations and even inspire you on your own drawings to color yourself.

In this 4-hour session, you'll be able to: 1. Create that beautiful and even flat color wash 2. Make smooth blends and gradients using 2 or more colors 3. Produce a variety of textures like fur, clouds and rocks 4. Paint easy plants, flowers and vines 5. Make corrections (yes, we make mistakes too!) and take better control of water and paint 6. Paint anywhere, anytime - because it's supposed to be stress-relieving

Painting Formal Lessons: Watercolor, Charcoal, Pastel and Acrylic at Asian Development Bank in 2000

Joannie was a videographer and video editor before she became a calligrapher and watercolorist. The change happened when she got pregnant with her second child in 2013. Since she can no longer shoot a wedding, she made herself productive by exploring other art stuff through online tutorials and instructional books. She tried calligraphy, painting flowers (old hobby), paper flower making, paper cutting, embroidery and DIY air-dry clay plates (oh the things you can do when you have so much free time!). Her instagram community helped a lot. Joannie currently works from home desinging invites, monograms, logos and etc. using calligraphy and watercolor and also teach on private and group workshops.
