Details

The Cultural Center of the Philippines is now accepting applications for the CCP Hands-on Choral Workshop 2016 which will be held on May 31 – June 4, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM in various venues of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. This highly regarded Workshop is now on its 13th year of training choirs from all over the country. Many of them have already participated in national and international choral festivals and competitions.

The Philippine Madrigal Singers led by choirmaster Mark Anthony Carpio leads the team of trainors composed of present and alumni members of the world renowned choral ensemble.

The Workshop modules include sectional vocal techniques, sight-singing and ear training, individual choir cliniquing sessions, conducting sessions for choral conductors, and a plenary session wherein all the choirs and conductors gather together to learn a common piece. The training program will also provide each choir the opportunity to perform in their own time slot within the five days. Participating choirs will be given the opportunity to render a short performance at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino within the duration of the Workshop.

For the first time, the Workshop will provide the individually registered qualified active choral conductors the opportunity to conduct the laboratory choir, the Sing Philippines Youth Choir (SPYC) during the Workshop proper.

The Workshop will culminate in a program at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (CCP Main Theater) on Saturday, June 4, 2016 featuring all the participating choirs and conductors. Due to limited choir slots for the Workshop, registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.
