Reframing LEADERSHIP through The Quantum Lens
Details
Twenty-first century megatrends are reshaping our environment and our lives in ways that are far removed from the world we grew up in. The mechanistic principles that underpinned much of the traditional organizational theories are no longer adequate. Consequently,
leaders need a different lens to successfully navigate the 21st century.
The course will introduce participants to quantum leadership skills and the new sciences of quantum physics, autopoietic system in biology, chaos theory and complexity science. The four main principles; namely: autopoiesis, paradoxical perspectives, field
theory and fractal patterns provide a framework that is more descriptive of organizational realities. They invite us to take a serious look at quantum skills for leaders in the VUCA (volatile, unpredictable, complex, ambiguous) world.
Outline
Part 1 – Newtonian and Quantum Frames: Time for a Paradigm Shift
Part 2 – The 7 Quantum Skills and Shelton’s Quantum Skills Framework
Part 3 – Integration into OD Practice
Speaker/s
Pearl US Bernardo, PhD and Jamesina Z. Gotangco, PhD
Pearl and Jamie graduated college with degrees in Chemistry and Education major in Math, Physics & Theology, respectively. At some point in their careers, they segued to the OD profession taking on the role of internal HR/OD consultants in various capacities in the corporate setting, eventually progressing towards freelance consultancy and training. Their paths first crossed at SAIDI, as facilitators in the creative module of the Positive Organization Development course. Uncovering their common interest in the use of quantum physics in OD and leadership, they decided to explore the intersection of their college passion for science and their current career in organization development through a collaborative research on the topic Quantum Leadership Competencies: Identifying their Behavioral Indicators and Describing their Contribution to Organizational Excellence with Dean Rose Fuentes as dissertation adviser.
A Specific Graduate Degree but Flexible Program of Study

Any Candidate accepted in the straight MA-PhD program is required only a dissertation to satisfy the research requirement of the program.
