English for Academic Purposes is specific to preparing students for college-level English and coursework for a degree in Enderun Colleges. For Lang 100 students, they will be exposed to pure English courses. Once they graduate into Lang 115 classes,
they will be able to start taking general education subjects alongside their English courses.
Lang 100
This course is for degree-bound students who have zero or very limited knowledge of English. If classified as an A1 learner, the students shall need a total of 6-7 months to complete the course. If at A2 band, they can take a faster academic track and be able to graduate only after 3-4 months of undergoing the program. The course centers on the basic foundations of the language and covers mostly grammar, sentence construction, vocabulary, mechanics and integrated skills. Prescribed number of hours is between 360-720. Students taking up this course are not allowed to take up any academic coursework in the college.
Lang 115
This course is designed for degree-bound students who have some knowledge of English but would still need enough fluency to produce longer and more substantial academic works. If classified as a B1 learner, the students shall need a total of 4-5 months to complete the course. This course centers on introduction to literature and writing and research. A brief review of Lang 100 shall also be included in the course since scaffolding of skills is necessary for retention and mastery. Prescribed number of hours is 360. Students taking up this course are allowed to take up some basic general education subjects such as physical education, business math and GE100.
Lang 120
This course is designed for degree-bound students who have already developed the basic foundations of English but would still need enough accuracy to produce more sophisticated and substantial academic works. At this level, students shall be taught to critique, conduct more intensive research, develop argumentative skills and appreciate literary theories. If classified as a B2 learner, the students shall need a total of 4-5 months to complete the course. This course centers on introduction to literary criticism and intermediate writing and research. A brief review of Lang 115 shall also be included in the course since scaffolding of skills is necessary for retention and mastery. Prescribed number of hours is 216. Students taking up this course are allowed to take up more advanced general education and major subjects such as TT101, basic computer and psychology.

The Tutorial and Languages Department of Enderun Colleges, called The Study, started accommodating English as Second Language students in 2008. It became a vehicle for degree-bound students to develop and master their academic English skills prior to taking up regular degree courses in the college. As years have progressed, more young and adult students enrolled in the programs.
