No matter how hard an endurance athlete trains, the last component that will determine success is the capacity to sustain the activity over long periods of time. Without proper and adequate nutrition in endurance events, fatigue will eventually set in which makes it harder for the athlete to complete the race or event. Achieving optimum nutrition entails the consumption of the right kind and the right amount of nutrients at the right time. By doing so, the metabolic machinery of the muscles cells are allowed to function at its best. And in this course, participants will be taught how to design a sound eating and hydration plan that will optimize nutrition intake for endurance events.

Speaker/s

Jeaneth A. Aro is the Chief Nutritionist of NUTRIFIT, a Fitness and Nutrition Consultancy Services provider. She is a Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian who obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Community Nutrition from the College of Home Economics, University of the Philippines-Diliman. She holds certifications in Group Fitness, Lifestyle and Weight Management from the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and is an active member of the Nutritionist-Dietitians Association of the Philippines (NDAP).

Jeaneth has conducted numerous nutrition and fitness counselling for various corporate clients such as Globe Telecom, Maersk Global, Harbour Centre, Inc., and RARE Conservation Philippines. She has worked with the food concessionaires of RAMCAR and Smart Communications, Inc, as food service nutrition consultant to “healthify” their regular canteen meals.

Jeaneth is also a recurring resource person for sports nutrition for UNILAB’s ACTIVE HEALTH group for their sports nutrition brands. She recently served as a Nutrition Consultant for UNILAB’s Weight Management Program FITLAB, and Cocopure, Inc. She is currently the Nutrition Consultant for Toyota Motor Philippines, which has been under the Corporate NUTRIFIT program since 2008. 

Jeaneth has also proved the essence of collaborating the discipline of sports, fitness and nutrition in handling athletes. She has successfully implemented sport-specific nutrition programs for the members of the Philippine National Team delegation during the 2007 South East Asian Games. She was also the Sports Nutritionist of the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines catering to the individual nutrition needs of the members of the Philippine Boxing Team. She was an integral part of the SMART Pro Cycling Team and has helped them win the overall Team Championships in the 2010 Le Tour de Filipinas.

Jeaneth’s success in implementing sport-specific nutrition programs over the years has also allowed her to make professional sports teams realize the importance of proper nutrition in optimizing athletic performance. Jeaneth has served as the Nutrition Coach of the Philippine Basketball Association’s Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters, Meralco Bolts and the SMART Gilas 2 National Basketball Team. Currently, she is the Nutrition Coach of British School Manila’s Gymnastics Team. This is once again another proof of the excellence and versatility of the NUTRIFIT program. 

As a personal nutrition coach, Jeaneth has helped several top executives, businessmen, celebrities, professionals and their families achieve their weight and health goals. These "weight-achievers" have so far maintained their desired weight even long after completing the NUTRIFIT program; a testament that the program is not just another fad, but a sustainable lifestyle changing experience.

Jeaneth has recently pursued to directly influence the nutrition comprehension and intelligence of regular people by entering into the training and seminar services.
She has put up the brand NUTRITION LEARNING EXPERIENCE that offers nutrition education sessions and events to facilitate the much needed professional and practical guidance on nutrition concepts for the general public.
