This course will offer students an overall perspective of marketing in the fashion industry beginning with knowledge of theories, concepts and principles. Students will develop skills in market research, product and brand development, business planning, implementation and post- evaluation; which will introduce them to various opportunities for a fashion marketing student. The class is systematically structured to reflect a process flow similar to current industry set-up and will contain various practical applications of skills and theories learned. During the course of the curriculum, students are expected to participate in these hands-on activities within or outside the classroom set-up. Each student will also produce and implement a thorough plan for a chosen brand; which will be showcased at the end of the curriculum. If given an opportunity, outputs may be used by real brands.In the end, this course aims to prepare students to become well-rounded marketers capable of marketing any brand as well as themselves and ready for the real world of fashion.
Not only has FIP trained fashion designers, but a pool of photographers, stylists, and entrepreneurs has emerged and proved as equally talented.
We've expanded the curriculum from fashion design to include photography, styling, and fashion business.
