The challenges facing the young educators are unparalleled. Facing accountability for students, implementing complex educational requirements, providing for diverse student popultations and dealing with parents who have misgivings about education are only a
few of these challenges.
In a rapid scan, the folling were popular responses to what new educators need to know: 1) building relationships
2) how to listen to the many voices around
3) how to think before making decisions and,
4) finding a mentor or critical friend
The foundational premise for this session: RELATIONAL LEADERSHIP.
LEARNING IN AN INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY (April 20-21, 2018)
Inclusive classrooms prepare learners who are comfortable with differences, skilled at confronting challenging issues and aware of their interconnectedness.
Inclusion is not about a disability. It is creating a society in which all- children and their families - feel welcomed and valued. Hence, classroom practives must be redefined. Two dominant practices are in order: differentiated instiruction and positive behaviour
management.
The foundational promise for this session: DISCOVERING STRATEGIES FOR CREATING A POSITIVE, INCLUSING classroom.
THE TEACHER AS A "WARM DEMANDER" (May 4-5, 2018)
The current generation of learners make it really a challenge to many teachers to establish a positive classroom environment. They may be well - prepared for their job. They know a great deal about their students, feel affection for them and empathize with
their struggles. But the teacher stands great competition from all these gadgets providing quick (artificial) intelligence. Anad the teacher is overwhelmed by the requirements of the VUCA- environment. How then can the teacher create an engaing classroom?
The foundational premise for this session: TEACHER AS "WARM DEMANDER" - (communication warmth and a non-negotiable demand for the learner-effort and mutual respect.
THE POWER OF THE TEACHER'S LANGUAGE ( May 25-26, 2018)
Words create worlds! The teacher's language- what he says to learners and how he says it- is one most powerful teaching tool. The teacher's language permeates every aspect of teaching. The teacher's language shapes the learner's thoughts, feelings,
and experiences. The teacher's words shape students as learners - by affecting their sense of identity, by helping learners understand how they work and play and, by influencing relationshops with them. Ultimately, the teacher's language shapes how they learn.

Why have many schools been offering "joyless experience?" Let's explore the score and of this question. Let's turn around teaching that is hard, demanding, exhausting into an experience of golden opportunities and joy.

At SAIDI School of OD, one will earn a degree in any of the following:
In working for a degree, one has the flexibility to develop a Program of Study and Research that draws from the multidisciplinary fields and practice to meet the Candidate's interests within the guidelines of the degree requirements.
Any Candidate accepted in the straight MA-PhD program is required only a dissertation to satisfy the research requirement of the program.
