Lord Kelvin cannot be more correct a century ago when he said that we cannot fully understand what we don’t measure. And thus organizations have institutionalized and required gathering of measurements for their processes and the corresponding characteristics of the products that are made to understand and monitor the level of quality at any point in time. The data gathered from this becomes the basis for key point decisions of intervening and doing corrective actions when necessary.

As much as organizations are rightly concerned about the quality of their processes and products, they should also be conscious about the quality of their measurement systems. A measurement system of unacceptable quality- that is unreliable and incapable, will not show and give the true characteristics that are sought to be measured. Worse, such a scenario can lead off to a wrong call of action such as rejecting a good product or judging a process to be a stable when it is not. The validity of an organization’s actions and decisions rest on the integrity of the data it uses which subsequently relies on the quality of the measurement system used.

This 2-day training program intends to impart and give a fundamental working knowledge of a body of scientific technique that objectively evaluates and assesses an organization’s measurement system. It will make participants aware that the measurement system is more than the measuring device or equipment. It will seek to familiarize them on the various measurement system studies, the steps on how to conduct these, how to analyze the results obtained and the insights that can be culled that could be used to plan and take the correction and improvement needed. The  methodology can be used regardless of whether the data gathered is measured through a device or just visually obtained. The learning session will be composed of experimental simulations, exercises and discussions where these will serve as a channel for the participants to learn and put into practice the concepts and principles involved and also give the them a view of how the guidelines of measurement systems analysis (MSA) could apply to real-work settings.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Process/Product and Quality Engineers, Quality Assurance Managers, Quality Analyst and Assurance Personnel, Test Engineers and Analysts, Auditors, Quality Management Systems Drivers/Champions or Implementors and others who are directly responsible or indirectly accountable for developing, deploying and improving the measurement process for their organization’s products and processes. Participants will have to bring their own laptops for the MSA software. Installation instructions for the trial version of the software will be provided as this will be used throughout the learning session duration.

HOW TO RESERVE A SLOT OR FOR FURTHTER
QUESTIONS
Due to the limited slots and for better preparation and planning, reserving a seat for the training and learning session will be required. You can email [email protected] should you want to reserve a slot. Simlarly you can email to the same address should you have other questions and clarifications about the training.
