A 1-day lecture designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and comply with regulatory and organizational requirements for occupational health and safety in accordance with industry standards; perform mensuration and calculation; interpret plans and observe specifications; prepare tools, materials and equipment; maintain tools and equipment. It covers rules covered in Department Order No. 128-13 Amending Rule 1414 on Scaffoldings of the 1989 Occupational Health and Safety Standards, As Amended
The course covers the nature of the hazards presented by scaffolding including the procedures to control and minimize the effects of these hazards. This safety training course also covers specific procedures for: erecting, inspecting, disassembling and maintaining scaffolding. It also include the requirement of the Dept. Order No 28-13
Course ObjectivesBy the end of this course, successful participants will be able to:Acquire knowledge on the DO 128-13 Series of 2013 Amending Rule on
- Scaffoldings of the 1989 Occupational Safety and Health Standards;
- Have a clear understanding of the terms, principles, rules in safe erection and dismantling of scaffoldings;
- Implement the elements of a safety work process that will result to full compliance with safety and health regulations and consequently for the protection of workers.
- Identify potential accidents associated with erecting and dismantling scaffolds;
- Understand the basic concepts and techniques of scaffolding safety; and
- Gain knowledge of the proper erection / dismantling procedures for scaffolding.
