Details

This course discusses the recording of financial transactions of entities in the service, retail, and other industries using the Double-entry bookkeeping system (a system which uses the tools debit and credit).
     An entity needs to register the Books of accounts (BOA) such as the General journal, General ledger, and other books and needs to maintain the recording of the financial transactions as required by the Tax code. 

      In this course, the participants will have an opportunity to record financial transactions using journals, to post journal entries in the appropriate ledgers, and to prepare the resulting Trial balance.
       Moreover, the participants will have a hands-on exercise on the preparation of the complete set of Financial statements of service and trading companies.
     Business forms such as official receipts, sales invoices, check vouchers, delivery receipts, and other commercial receipts and invoices will be taken up, as well as the related transaction cycles and internal controls.
     In addition, cash monitoring systems such as verification of entries in the Bank statement and maintenance and usage of Petty cash fund for small payments will also be discussed.

        Year-end adjustments and provisions will also be discussed.
        After preparing the Financial statements, the participants will learn the concepts of Closing entries and Reversing entries.

       Finally, the participants will also experience formulating analyses on a given set of Financial statements by adapting several measures such as the Common-size analysis, Trend analysis, and Ratio analysis.

Speaker/s

Mr. Benedick G. Manalaysay is a Certified Public Accountant who currently provides Accounting and Taxation seminars to employees, entrepreneurs, business owners, freelancers, and professionals. He has provided accounting workshops to business students starting their venture; NetSuite training to students enrolled in Basic Accounting course; and consulting services regarding business registration services of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), tax compliance, and payroll compliance. He has also been involved in improving the efficiencies of business areas or processes by giving recommendations. His past industry experiences include performing internal audit for a college and doing audit engagements for mining and retail clients of SGV & Co. He has been been an instructor of Fundamentals of Accountancy at the De La Salle University (DLSU) and an instructor of Financial Accounting and Management Accounting at Chiang Kai Shek College. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy with Dean’s List Honors Award from DLSU.
