Loyola Schools Swim Program was spearheaded by the Physical Education Faculty of Ateneo De Manila University in 2006. The goal of the program was two-fold, provide excellent and systematic swim lessons to those who need it and tap the community involvement of the faculty members. The profiles of the faculty members are outstanding since many of them carry Masters Degree and numerous certifications. With around 200 clients in a summer campaign, clients always come back since the program fostered basic knowledge in swimming, survival skills, preparation for higher level in swimming, socialization and fellowship. It is not a swim company but a community that is in accordance with the University's mission-vision. Rooted in the spirit of being Lux in Domino, light in the Lord, the Ateneo seeks to train men and women-for-others.
It went into expansion when our former Chairperson, Prof. Augustus I. Vargas, opened the swim program beyond the gates of the University in 2012. In 2014, the program began offering Saturday sessions after the summer campaign because parents believe that learning how to swim has to be progressive.
