SUPERVISORY ESSENTIALS: From Task to People Management

The highly-interactive and hands-on program will be divided into 3 parts:

• Part I: The Challenge of Leadership

  • This module situates participants in their role as leaders who need to meet the expectations of superiors, direct reports, and peers, and what they must be able to do to meet these expectations. The module identifies their functions as leaders and describes the proper mindset and skills required of their roles.

• Part II: Managing Work

  • This module walks participants through the work process, for a better understanding of how the functions of Planning and Controlling impact their unit’s contributions to achieving the goals of their organization. Emphasis will be on how Results can be secured through proper Planning and Performance Management

  • Topics: Managing Work, Planning Activities, Controlling Performance,

• Part III: Leading the Team

  • This module focuses on participants’ abilities to influence others and shape the team’s culture.  Emphasis will be on the functions of Organizing and Leadership as they contribute to ensuring successful team performance.
