Following the success of WIDE SHOT 2018 in UP Diliman, this year’s event is going to be 5 times more awesome.
In celebration of the school’s 5th Anniversary, we present to you another exciting gathering and learning event .
WIDESHOT 2019 Outdoors: Practical workshop for aspiring filmmakers
For 5 days and nights, 100 participants will stay on a secluded beach in Iba, Zambales. The participants will learn basic and advanced various filmmaking techniques. Masterclasses, lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practical exercises will be experienced.
The Goal
To make you a better filmmaker by getting you in an environment conducive for learning, creativity and camaraderie.
Topics
Each morning, a Plenary Session will be held. This will be attended by all participants.
1. Directing and Cinematography
2. Cinematic Wedding Films
3. Documentary Filmmaking
4. Sound Design
5. Script Writing
Breakout Sessions
On afternoons, there will be breakout sessions. These will be more in-depth workshops and discussions. Each participant will choose a topic of specialization. You will stay on the chosen topic to get more in depth mentorship. Hands on, and practical exercises
will be used as primary methods of mentorship.
Upon application, you must list three (3) most preferred breakout topics. Choose from these topics.
1. Directing
2. Cinematography
3. Sound acquisition / design
4. Scriptwriting
5. Documentary Filmmaking
6. Aerial Cinematography
Best Part
The participants will be divided into 10 groups of 10 members. Each group will produce, direct, shoot, edit their own films within those 5 days. The highlight will be a premiere screening of 10 films. The groups will have members from different topics of specialisation
from the breakout sessions.
What to bring in this 5-day filmmaking camp
Bring whatever gears you have and what you love using - including your mobile phone. If you don't have high end gears, that's ok. Don't let that stop you. Bring your passion, enthusiasm and willingness to tell stories.
If you have gears, bring them. That might help your group in producing the best film.
1. Any camera (DSLR, mirrorless, mobile phone, etc)

3. Tripod and other stabilizers
4. Sound / Mic
5. Drone
For 5 days, you will be mentored by the best filmmakers in the industry. The mentors will share their experiences in the morning plenary sessions where all the participants get a chance to listen and be inspired.
On afternoon breakout sessions, you will be in an intimate learning environment with our expert mentors guiding you in specific fields of filmmaking.
