Dash Cultural and Educational Institute (Dash CEI) is the only language school in the Philippines that specializes in teaching Chinese. It has a strong faculty and not only many senior teachers who know about Fil-Chi education, but also licensed & experienced
young teachers, who love education, constantly develop teaching programs and courses, use the simplest and most effective methods to let students learn Chinese and appreciate the beautiful Chinese culture in the shortest time.
The school was founded at the end of 2008 by the teachers of the overseas Chinese, Engr. Sofia Li Chua and Loung Ming Chen. Teacher Sofia has been engaged in education for decades. From the Chinese primary school teacher to the academic director, from the
Chinese guest teacher of the university to the Chinese course counselor to the principal of Dash CEI, she has devoted herself to education. Teacher Loung has served as a kindergarten, primary school teacher, kindergarten Chinese director and primary school
Chinese director. In the academic work, she actively promoted teaching reform and promoted second language teaching. They do their best for the Chinese education in the Philippines.
Based on decades of teaching experience and experimentation, the team of Dash CEI has independently developed a Chinese-language course suitable for non-Chinese speaking students. The comprehensive teaching effect is very significant; especially for Filipinos
and Filipino Chinese. The school currently has nearly 300 students, aged from one and a half to seventy-two years old. Adult students come from all professions. In the past ten years, school graduates have achieved good results in various fields of society
by using the acquired Chinese language skills. With the unremitting efforts of all teachers and students, the school has won the recognition and praise of parents and students.
In May 2013, Dash CEI was recognized by the China Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and began to assign excellent in-service Chinese teachers to support the Chinese teaching of the school. In November 2015, Dash CEI established a partnership with the Philippine
Chinese Education Center (the National Overseas Chinese Office authorized its full-fledged agency in the Philippines) to jointly promote the exchange of culture and education between China and the Philippines. In December 2013 and August 2016, Dash CEI signed
a memorandum of Agreement with the PNTC University and St. Paul University of the Philippines. In August 2017, Dash CEI officially holds the Chinese language classes in St. Paul University Quezon City Campus.
