The method of social research relies heavily on data collection. Data collecting improves the quality of a social research project when done appropriately. However, data collecting may be difficult for PhD students and early-career researchers. In connection with this, the Association of Scholarly Editors (ASE) in cooperation with the Philippine Association of Institutions for Research, Inc., takes pleasure in inviting you and other interested researchers, academicians, educators, deans, research head and directors, faculties, non-teaching staff, and government affiliates to participate in the Training - Workshop in Conducting Oral Interviews, Preparing the Transcript, and Analyzing Data on July 29 to 30, 2021 through Zoom.

2. To apply techniques in writing transcript manually and by using technology; and
3. To adopt techniques in analyzing transcript data.

Speaker/s

Dr. Genaro Virador Japos is a Filipino educator and published researcher in social sciences. He is the founder of two Philippine-based research associations, the Philippine Association of Institutions for Research and Asean Research Organization. He finished in 1982 the degree Bachelor of Arts in English as magna cum laude, at the Holy Name University in Bohol. He went on to pursue graduate study and finished in 1986 his Master of Arts in Educational Management at Urios College in Butuan City and eventually in 1990 his doctorate in Educational Planning and Management at Mindanao Polytechnic State College in Cagayan de Oro City. His ardent desire for increased knowledge and expanded professional engagements led him to take further studies in other fields in education and management, thus earning four more doctorates -  Doctor in Management at Liceo de Cagayan University; Doctor of Education major in Instructional System and Resource Management at the University of San Jose Recoletes; Doctor of Management major in Human Resource Management at the University of San Jose Recoletos; and Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Development and Transformation at Cebu Doctors University.

The Philippine Association of Institutions for Research, Inc. or PAIR is a body that aims to advance quality multidisciplinary research.

The founding of PAIR was envisaged by Dr. Genaro V. Japos, the former director of research of Liceo de Cagayan University, the institution base of the association located at the heart of Cagayan de Oro City, the center for commerce of Northern Mindanao, Philippines. To start up the founding of the organization, a meeting with the representatives of various tertiary schools in Mindanao was convened during the training of editors for a refereed research journal by Zonal Research Centre of the Commission on Higher Education at the Notre Dame of Marbel University, City of Koronadal, South Cotabato, on April 2, 2007. It was during that meeting that the association’s underlying principles were laid; the board of trustees was created, and the first sets of officers were elected. Three months later, on August 14, 2007, the association got its legal identity as it registered with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission. Almost a year after its SEC registration, the association was formally launched via its first CHED-endorsed national health and environment research forum held at the Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan on August 1 and Liceo de Cagayan University on August 2, 2008. By then, the first set of officers were inducted and the seven pioneering member-institutions took oath. Thereafter, succeeding CHED-endorsed research conferences, both national and international, were held in different venues, increasing the association’s membership. ...
