Who is an AMO?
An AMO refers to a person, the Authorized Managing Officer. This is a position or designation in all business establishments engaged in contracting, such as the construction business. No age restriction. Filipino and foreigners are qualified to join.
All contractors (general contractors and subcontractors) or companies involved in contracting are required by law to apply for a PCAB contractor license. PCAB stands for Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board. The license legitimizes the operations of these businesses.
Who must be the AMO in the company?
For businesses registered with the DTI (Department of Trade and Industry), the AMO is the sole proprietor or proprietress. Simply the person whose name appears on the DTI Certificate.
For Corporation or Partnership which is registered with the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission), the AMO is a person designated either by the Board of Directors or by the stockholders. A Board Resolution, signed by the Board Secretary, is the document to prove that the AMO is designated.
